Week of 10/10-10/16
On Wednesday, October 13th Homewood Flossmoor came to play the Pats on their home turf. Sophomore captain Emily Scaletta made several impressive dodges up the right side of the field and junior Julia Balmos and sophomore Isabella Errigo inserted the ball beautifully on our offensive corners. Homewood scored a goal in the first half of the game, and unfortunately, the Pats ran out of sunlight to score one of their own. The final was 1-0.
On Thursday, October 14th the girls traveled to Oak Park to play the Huskies on their home field. Junior Sheela Jayaraman made several clean dodges during the game; however, we struggled to read the ball on the turf surface and ended up losing 5-0.
On Saturday, October 16th the girls hiked back to Oak Park to play in the annual JVA tournament. The girls played New Trier first and were able to hold the Trevians from scoring for most of the game. The Pats were even awarded with several offensive corners. Unfortunately, New Trier popped two in and we lost, 2-0. Afterward, the girls played Glenbard West. The Pats fought hard, but were unlucky in the circle after GBW scored late in the game. The final was 1-0. The last game of the season was against Deerfield High School. Deerfield scored quickly in the first half, but Pats refused to give up. In the second half, sophomore Emily Scaletta crushed the ball into the circle from the 25-yard line where junior Eva Allibone was able to control it and put it past the Warrior's goalie. The final was 1-1! It was a great way to end the season.

Week of 10/3-10/9
On Monday, October 4th the Pats were ready for a rematch against Loyola Academy. The Ramblers scored a goal in the first half of the game; however, the Pats refused to back down. Sophomore Emily Scaletta transitioned the ball smoothly into Loyola's circle and passed to Katie Perlman, who scored easily from the left side of the field. Loyola chalked up another goal in the second half, but the Pats immediatley silenced the Ramblers once sophomore Agnes Kwon made an outstanding pass to Amy Andes, who scored using her reverse stick on the right side of the circle. The final was 2-2!
On Tuesday, October 5th SHS played the Antioch Sequoits. Both teams fought fiercely in the first half; the score remained 0-0 until Emily Scaletta set up Katie Perlman for the Pats' first goal of the game. A few minutes later, Scaletta took a hard shot in the circle and Perlman quickly tapped the ball into the goal. Perlman currently has 12 goals and Scaletta has 9 assists for the season. In the last 3 minutes of the game, the Sequoits were awarded with a corner; although their offense made an obvious hacking foul on sophomore standout Lauren Magafas, their shot on goal had counted. The final score was 2-1.

The final score was 3-0.
On Wednesday, September 29th the Pats played New Trier High School. NT scored early in the first half of the game and popped a few in during the second half. Junior Ginger Lu made excellent adjustments at defense, but it was not enough to hold the Trevians. The Pats lost, 5-0.
On Thursday, September 30th the girls came ready to play Lakes High School. Sophomore Lauren Huber played outstanding, taking strong free hits and making excellent passes throughout the entire game. Sophomores Emily Scaletta and Stephanie Miljkovic consistently passed well and both girls set up leading scorer, Katie Perlman, for a goal. The Pats won, 1-0.
On Friday, October 1st SHS took on Lake Forest High School. Every single girl on the team played her heart out. Sophomore Lauren Huber "intimidated" the Scouts with her superb free hits; junior captain Julia Balmos blocked numerous shots on our defensive corners; and sophomore captain Emily Scaletta had several fantastic breaks that left LFHS and their coach simply stunned.
The girls will be hungry for a win on Monday, October 4th when they play Loyola Academy at 4:30. See you then!

Week of 9/12-9/18
On Monday, September 13th the girls traveled to Homewood-Flossmoor's stadium for the first time this season. The girls fought bravely in the first half of the game. Sophomores Emily Scaletta and Lauren Huber moved the ball well the entire game. After making some excellent transitions, junior captain Julia Balmos carried the ball effortlessly into the circle. Despite the excessive hacking from the Ho-Flo's defense, Balmos remained determined and scored by placing the ball perfectly to the left side of the cage. The girls won the game, 1-0.
On Tuesday, September 14th the girls played Glenbrook South at home. The Pats flexed their muscles early when sophomore Katie Perlman scored within the first ten minutes of the game. Glenbrook then answered back with two quick goals. Things started to get very competitive after Glenbrook scored. Junior Eva Allibone entered the game at the second half and took advantage of Glenbrook's tiring defense. She tied the game up after an outstanding breakaway. But it was clear that Allibone was still hungry for more. As the game neared the end, Allibone scored the winning goal. The final score was 3-2. We had multiple injuries and even our first stroke of the season. It seems that these girls just love to keep me on my toes!
On Thursday, September 16th the girls played Highland Park High School. Sophomore Katie Perlman scored early (seems to be a pattern!) after receiving a perfect pass from Lauren Huber. Huber then took advantage of an opportunity to score on a corner penalty and crushed the ball seamlessly to the back of the cage. Sophomore Amy Andes also scored using her reverse stick in the second half with the help of Stephanie Miljkovic and Miljkovic had a goal of her own (the first one of her career) later in the game. The girls won, 4-0.

Week of 9/5-9/11
The girls played an outstanding game against St. Ignatius today. Thanks to Lauren Magafas, Vivian Wang, Sarah Galvan, Jessie Silva, and Sam Saddler, the defense was able to hold the "Wolfpack" for the entire game. Though the girls sustained multiple injuries, they fought their way into their first overtime of the season. The tenacity that Emily Scaletta and Julia Balmos demonstrated helped to push the girls into a second overtime. Stephanie Miljkovic and Amy Andes had excellent breakaways in each overtime, yet time ran out and we were unable to finish what we started. The scored remained 0-0. Thank you to all the parents that came out to support us in our first home game of the year.
The girls will play Homewood Flossmoor on Monday, September 13th at 5:45 p.m. See you then!
